I’m having a hard time dealing with the fact that summer is over already, mainly because mine went by in a blur.
I started working nights at my new job–which I LOVE, by the way–about a month and a half ago. Only I did a silly thing and tried to take a second job about the same time I switched shifts, and it didn’t go well. By not well I mean my body revolted in a big, big way. Which is a bummer, because I liked the part-time job just as much as like my full-time job. But I’m getting off track…
I had plans! I was going to take a trip to Chicago to visit a friend I haven’t seen in too long and miss dearly. I was going to spend afternoons in the hammock reading all kinds of books. There are tons of festivals and fairs in my area, and I didn’t get to do any of those things.
Fall and Winter holidays are almost here, and it’s no secret how much I love those.
The summer may have gotten away from me, but the story ideas are coming back, slowly but surely. I’ve had a series idea in the works for a long time, but recently I got the idea to start the whole thing with a rewrite of my very first book. Bringing those characters back–knowing now what I didn’t know then about writing–is something I’ve been wanting to do for years. I’m really looking forward to revisiting my first loves and giving their story a fresh start.
Because this year has been all about fresh starts, and they’ve all been wonderful so far.
How was your summer? Anything you didn’t cross off your summer fun list you want to do before it’s too late?
